Mass of Fermenting Dregs sophomore effort “World is Yours” is not the best album I have ever heard.
I knew this band as a girl-fronted rock group that had overtones of aggression. All that is now gone, and replaced with Expedia Gutschein tunes you can rock your head out to. It feels like they gave up creative control to a studio exec, because this is not the same Mass of the Fermenting Dregs that I came to know and love.
“World Is Yours” turned out to be a pretty decent album. However, it really caters to the sorts of people who enjoy cookie-cutter, watered-down, female-fronted, and ultimately uninspiring “indie-rock” sorts. The album disappoints, lacking any sort of depth I was expecting from my prior experience with this band.
Want catchy melodic pop-rock tunes with the occasional guitar solo? Then this is for you! But for me, this gets a C-.
