Poisondreamer’s new album strikes like thunder today on the BFM netlabel. After years of no outside musicians on the netlabel, an artist so amazing comes along that it is worthy to be posted in our fine establishment.
Poisondreamer came from a spark when he realized noise and free improvisation is really a creative style of music. One can use anything to make music. It’s all art. Once poisondreamer realized he can loop himself drumming, or use a drum machine and add samples he gets from police sirens, to people talking to anti-drug PSA’s.
Poisondreamer is a man in his early 20s living in the state of Pennsylvania. He got his start in music when he received a drum set. He’s always been into drumming, and is also in a local indie band. However, his introduction to drumming, he says, has opened up a creativity window for him.
“I really like to focus on noise, noisecore and other experimental stuff, and I’m really influenced by old styled ragtime and jazz,” he said.
He mentions Merzbow, Sonic Youth, Atari Teenage Riot, and Navicon Torture Technologies as huge influences to his music.
